Whipped Cream in a Jar

I had one piece of pie left and needed just a small amount of whipped cream so I grabbed a jar and made some.  Here's how.

Pour about 2 tablespoons of heave cream in a jar.  Pick a jar that will allow you to shake the cream vigorously with room for it to move around, but don't pick a jar that's too big.

Then add about 1/2 teaspoon confectioners sugar.

And about 1/4 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract.

Then put the lid on and start shaking.  

Shake, shake, shake and before you know it, you'll have perfectly whipped cream.  It shouldn't take more than 45 seconds or so.  Voila.

Just the perfect amount for one slice of pie.

  1. Place ingredients in a clean jar.
  2. Cover jar with lid and shake for about 45 seconds or until cream thickens to a desired consistency.
