Favorite Kitchen Things: PL8 Magnetic Spoons

PL8 Magnetic Spoons - ButterYum

PL8 Magnetic Spoons - ButterYum

The busy baking season is quickly approaching so I thought I'd take the opportunity to share with you a product I reach for time and time again - PL8 Magnetic Measuring Spoons.  Why do I like them so much?

These spoons are double ended so it's like having 2 sets of measuring spoons in one.  If you use one side to measure a teaspoon of vanilla extract, the other side is dry and ready to measure a teaspoon of baking soda.

Both sides of the spoons have flat bottoms so they can rest on the counter without tipping.

See - no spills.

And my absolute favorite thing about this set is that they magnetically nest together for neat storage.  Love.

Favorite Kitchen Things: Ball Shaker Lids

Patricia Reitz

I recently discovered the niftiest thing.  Ball Shaker Lids that fit canning jars with standard mouth openings.  Why didn't I think of these?!!!   It's so convenient to flip open the green top and shake out whatever ingredient I need.  Each box contains 2 lids.  I currently have one on an 8-ounce jar of grated romano cheese.  The other is on a 16-ounce jar of freeze dried chives.  I'll be getting more for ice cream sprinkles, parmesan cheese, dry rub mixes, chopped nuts, etc.  I absolutely love them and couldn't wait to share them with you.

Of coarse, anyone who's been visiting my blog for a while can tell you I love my label maker too.

Favorite Kitchen Things: Pro-Apple Peeler

Patricia Reitz

Apple Pie has always been my favorite dessert to eat on Thanksgiving, but it hasn't always been my favorite pie to make because peeling apples can be such messy and time consuming process, until now.  I found the niftiest little gadget that can peel an apple in less than 5 seconds - seriously, 5 seconds and you're done!  No mess, it's a lot of fun, and it's relatively inexpensive. It's called the Pro-Apple Peeler, and if you're an Amazon Prime member, you can get free 2-day shipping.

Place an apple on the gadget and turn the hand crank.

Place an apple on the gadget and turn the hand crank.

Peels perfectly every single time.

I peeled all these apples in about 2 minutes flat.  Apple pie, here I come - love this little gadget!!
